The incorporation of Oud into contemporary Western fragrances was a practice pioneered by Tom Ford. It was first used in the M7 fragrance by Mr. Ford at a time when he served as the artistic director for Yves Saint Laurent. Needless to say, it was an instant success. After creating his own niche, Mr. Ford has never shied away from using oud in his private blends. The latest addition to the Oud Collection by Tom Ford is the Tobacco Oud. This private blend was concoted by none other than Olivier Gillotin, the same perfumer responsible for the other fragrances in the Oud collection.
